215. Hon KATE DOUST to the
minister representing the Minister for Planning:
I refer to page 27 of the Government
Mid-year Financial Projections Statement . I note an extra $59 million has
been allocated to the Elizabeth Quay, Perth City Link and Riverside Projects to
accelerate them while other critical projects have been axed.

accelerate these projects?
(2) How much has it cost the

I thank the member for some notice
of the question
(1) The projects
the member refers to have not been accelerated. The funding changes noted in
the Government Mid-year Financial
Projections Statements are largely related to utilities upgrades as part of
the cross-government coordination to future-proof the city's services
infrastructure. They do not reflect a change in the scope of the projects. The
midyear review reflects current financial forecasts and timing of expenditure
to match the works program.
(2) No palm trees
have yet been installed at Elizabeth Quay; however, all costs for landscaping,
including tree planting, are part of the approved $440 million budget for the
project.
