READ STREET–SAFETY
BAY ROAD, ROCKINGHAM — PAVEMENT MARKING
717. Hon AARON STONEHOUSE to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer the minister to the new road
layout at the junction of Read Street and Safety Bay Road in Rockingham, which
involves a series of new bends, installed in late March, with the aim of
slowing traffic. In the three months since the completion of the layout
component of these changes, no work has been undertaken to paint new markings
on the approach roads. Given that the new layout is far from intuitive, can the
minister tell me when Main Roads intends to finish this project by installing
appropriate line markings?

On behalf of the Minister for
Environment, I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. The
following information is provided by the Minister for Transport.
The minister is advised that the
pavement marking works will be completed by Main Roads' metropolitan
network contractor by Friday, 5 July 2019, or earlier, weather permitting.
