My question to the minister is on the same subject.  I acknowledge that the federal Government’s contribution has been minimal.  However, in view of his answer to my question, why has he led the people of Denham to believe that an allocation of $5 million will be made in the budget, when in fact, that may not be the case? Hon TOM STEPHENS

I have not led the people of Denham to believe any such thing. Hon N.F. Moore:  Yes, you have. Hon TOM STEPHENS:  I definitely have not. Hon N.F. Moore:  The development commission believes it too. Hon TOM STEPHENS:  The Gascoyne Development Commission is an agency of government, and its budget is announced on budget day.  That agency would be wise to wait until budget day before telling people what is in its budget.  I hope that the Leader of the Opposition will not play politics with the budget of the people of the Gascoyne.  If he does, he may put at risk the budget of the Gascoyne.  The Leader of the Opposition should advocate with the federal Government on behalf of the people of that region to ensure that it puts its money where its mouth has been.
