Public Health Act—Emergency powers
306. Hon Philip Scott to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister
for Health:
Section 158 of the WA Public Health Act 2016 includes emergency powers
making it ostensibly legal for an authorised officer or police officer to hold
down a person, remove all their clothing, including underwear, and forcibly
vaccinate them.
(1) Can the minister clarify for the house whether
section 158 of the WA Public Health Act 2016 has ever been evoked and carried out by an authorised officer or police officer
in Western Australia?
(2) When will this draconian section of the Public
Health Act be repealed?
