1 & 2. Security for the Joondalup Line is provided by:
(a) 38 Transit Officers specifically allocated to operate on trains, at stations and in mobile patrols.
(b) 100 Transit Police, who operate across all lines.
(c) 24 customer service staff at stations on the Joondalup line whose role, while primarily to provide customer service, includes observing passenger behaviour and calling for assistance by radio to deal with any security related incidents that come to their notice.
(d) Contracted Revenue Protection Officers, currently numbering 84, who are allocated across all lines and whose roles include observing passenger behaviour, calling for assistance by radio to a central shift commander who can direct Transit Officers or Police by radio to deal with any security related incidents that come to their notice.
(e) CCTV which is monitored by operators 24 hours -7 days per week from a central control centre who observe passenger behaviour and may call for assistance by radio to a central shift commander who can direct Transit Officers or Police by radio to deal with any security related incidents that come to their notice.
3. There are 136 out-bound trains (towards Joondalup) and 135 in-bound trains (towards Perth) on a normal weekday. The Joondalup Line averages 57,200 boardings per weekday. (ie - total for inbound and outbound).
