I refer the Premier to the line item for the State Water Strategy on page 70 of the 2005-2006 State Budget and ask the Premier to provide a
forty year table of the average rate of rainfall in the Perth and South West areas?

The graph utilises rainfall records from Jarrahdale. Jarrahdale has been selected as it has a long rainfall record (extending as far back as the 1890s) and the site location also provides an excellent indication of rainfall in our dam catchment areas. A complete data set for Jarrahdale is not available from the Bureau of Meteorology for 2004. Therefore the figure shown on the graph is an assumed rainfall wher any gaps in the Jarrahdale record have been estimated based on actual rainfall records for nearby sites.
