(1)(a)-(b) In this instance, the position is defined as an Industry Analyst because its focus is on one industry. The formal Job Description document states that the Industry Analyst position is responsible for researching, reviewing and formulating policy or recommendations for the Real Estate Branch. The Role Statement for a more generic Policy Officer in the same Consumer Protection Division states that "the Policy Officer is responsible for formulating, implementing and evaluating consumer protection policy and legislation in relation to industry areas within the Western Australian marketplace". (c) The possible extension of time being offered to the successful applicant has no relationship to the "Term of Government". (i)A three-month extension will only be offered to the successful applicant if after three months: · The substantive occupant of the advertised position continues acting elsewhere; and · The performance of the successful applicant is satisfactory.
