TRESPASS
392. Hon COLIN TINCKNELL to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
(1) Can the
minister please elaborate on her answer in the affirmative to question without
notice 357 from yesterday and please list all the laws on which she has sought
advice in an effort to better protect farmers and from whom this advice has
been sought?
(2) Has the
minister received the said advice; and, if so, can she please table that advice
now; and, if not, when is this advice expected and will she table it once it
has been received?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by
the Minister for Police.
(1)–(2) The
minister has had discussions with the Commissioner of Police and the Attorney
General primarily on the Criminal Code. The minister is working with the
Attorney General on the preparation of a cabinet submission and the Attorney
General will bring a bill before the Parliament. The minister is confident that
a full briefing will be provided on the bill.
