I refer to the Minister's advice of 19 June 2012 regarding Euro population management (question on notice No. 5569, answers (7-8)), and I ask in relation to the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) advice on the lack of a commercial interest in Euros, has DEC, since cessation on 31January 2010 —
(a) consulted with processors regarding Euros given that representatives for processors have not been invited to Kangaroo Management Advisory Committee meetings; and
(b) consulted licensed accredited professional shooters who have harvested in regional areas where Euros exist?

(a) No
(b) The Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) has raised the issue of the suspension of commercial harvesting of euros at recent meetings of the Kangaroo Management Advisory Committee (KMAC). At the November 2010 meeting of KMAC, DEC was advised by the member representing commercial kangaroo shooters that, while it would be desirable to have a small euro harvest in WA, his members were principally interested in the commercial harvest of red and western grey kangaroos.
