BURRUP PENINSULA - ZONED INDUSTRIAL LAND 4. Hon GIZ WATSON to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure: With regard to question on notice 4201 asked on Thursday, 23 November 2006, the minister responded that the percentage of the total land on the Burrup zoned industrial land in the Shire of Roebourne No 8 town planning scheme was 14.82 square kilometres, or 8.02 per cent. Will the minister correct her response after viewing the Shire of Roebourne No 8 town planning scheme maps and documentation, which indicate that the area is approximately 4 994 hectares and is in excess of 40 per cent of the total land mass of the Burrup Peninsula; and, if not, why not? I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. The minister also thanks the member for bringing the matter to her attention and seeks to clarify her previous response in the following way: part (4) of the question should have included a clarifying statement that the figures were related to the agreement referenced in parts (1) to (3). However, it is now apparent that this was not the intent of the question. In the Department for Planning and Infrastructure geographic information systems database, the Burrup locality has an area of approximately 113.47 square kilometres. The DPI GIS figures show that the total area of land zoned industrial, industrial development or strategic industry in the Shire of Roebourne town planning scheme No 8 is approximately 183.66 square kilometres, of which 34.55 square kilometres, or 18.8 per cent, fall within the Burrup locality. I will table maps and the area calculations under the GIS for the member. [See paper 2389.]
