Public housing—Waitlist
872. Hon Tim Clifford to
the parliamentary secretary representing the
Minister for Housing and Works:
I refer to the
housing options assessment form, which people fill in when they apply to be
added to the public housing waiting list.
(1) In the 2024–25 financial year, how
many people filled in the form?
(3) How many of those applicants went on to be
added to the waitlist?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question and provide the following on
behalf of the Minister for Housing and Works.
(1)–(2) This data is not captured by the department's
internal reporting systems. The housing options assessment form is not an
application for public housing assistance; it is used to triage clients seeking
housing or other assistance and advise them of assistance options they may be
eligible for based on their current circumstances. If assessed as being
eligible for public housing assistance, an applicant will be encouraged to complete
a public housing application.
The President: I give the call to Hon Dr Brad Pettitt.
Hon Dr Brad Pettitt: I've shrunk!
The President: Sorry! Hon Sophie McNeill.
