In relation to the Ministerial Travel Report tabled in the Assembly on 21 June 2011 regarding the Minister’s travel to North America, I ask:
(a) regarding the Minister’s statement that the Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia (BC) was of a very high standard, and would serve as a good model for the proposed Waterfront Indigenous Cultural Centre, what advice did the Minister seek or receive regarding the cost of replicating the buildings, archives storage, storage and display of documents and specimens of BC’s natural and human Indigenous history in the Museum of Anthropology; and
(i) if so, can the Minister table written advice; and
(A) if not, why not; and
(b) on what date does the Minister expect the Barnett Government to begin construction of the Waterfront Indigenous Cultural Centre?
