606. Ms R. SAFFIOTI to the Minister for
Transport:
I have a supplementary question. I go back to the original question:
what is the financial exposure of the state, and why did the minister not
undertake these audits and be satisfied with the safety of these signs before
he signed the contract?

As I said, I believe
that we will be able to satisfy the safety conditions, but I am waiting for the
final report. Therefore, there is no financial exposure to the state.
Ms R. Saffioti : There must be; you said in the other place
that there was.
Mr D.C. NALDER : We
said that there is a contract with APN Outdoor .
I believe that we will be able to roll out billboards across the metropolitan
area, but I need to be fully satisfied that they are safe. I believe that we
will be able to work with APN to deliver those billboards.
