AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) Speech
pathology services in South Hedland, Karratha, Newman, and Tom Price–Paraburdoo
are provided Monday to Friday. Community-based outreach services are provided
to other Pilbara communities as required.
(2) Speech
pathology services in Tom Price have been fully covered; however, there have
been staff changes and difficulties with recruiting. While recruitment was
undertaken, coverage for urgent referrals has been provided by the speech
pathologist in Newman.
(3) There are
39 children aged between zero and 18 years on the waitlist for speech pathology
in Tom Price.
(4) There is
an active caseload of 108 children who are all eligible to access
government-funded speech pathology services in Tom Price.
(5) As at 16 September 2015, the longest wait time is 132 days.
