Perth Cultural Centre wetland
55. Hon Dr Brad Pettitt to the Minister for the Environment :
I refer to the
letter sent on 10 March in which Mr Templeman advised that the Perth Cultural
Centre wetland will be removed as part of the Perth Cultural Centre
rejuvenation without replacement and that existing fauna will be relocated to
appropriate new habitat in accordance with the Department of Biodiversity,
Conservation and Attractions' standard operating procedures.
(1) Where will the fauna be relocated to?
(2) Is there an acceptable survival rate of the relocated
fauna?
(3) Will the wetland be maintained until the fauna
are relocated?
(4) What alternative freshwater sources will be
available to birds in the Perth CBD?
(5) Please table a copy of the fauna translocation
plan that has been developed.
