In relation to all students within the Western Australian education system:
(a) for each year since 1996, what percentage of students completing Year 10 then went on to complete Year 12; and
(b) for each year since 1996, what percentage of students completing Year 12 completed subjects which included undertaking end of year exams?

* The graduation rates for private schools are not available for the 1998 and 1999 Year 10 cohorts as the data were not collected.
· The secondary graduation rate for Year 10 students:
§ is 'apparent' because it is calculated by comparing a Year 10 cohort with the Year 12 cohort two years later. Because the measure does not track individual students, this rate can be affected by net changes in interstate and overseas migration;
§ represents the number of Year 10 students in Semester Two in all Western Australian schools divided by the total number of Year 12 students who achieved a Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) two years later; and
§ excludes students at Canning and Tuart College, full-fee paying international students, and repeating students if they had previously achieved the WACE.
· The criteria for achieving the WACE changed in 2010, affecting the 2008 and 2009 Year 10 cohorts.
