I refer to the proposed re-development of the old Carine TAFE site. Since closure of the educational facility was announced in 2002, my constituents have anxiously awaited news as to what would be done with the site, and the chance to have input into that decision-making process. Over eighteen months ago I was given a firm promise by LandCorp that a community consultation process would occur in 2006. I have now been informed that this has been delayed, because the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) amendment has not been initiated. Can the Minister please advise -
(1) What was the cause of the delay in initiating the MRS amendment?
(2) What is the current status in terms of initiating this amendment?
(3) When will the consultation process now take place?
(4) What were the results of the site investigations, set up in 2005 to attain preliminary information to assist with the consultation process?
(5) Why haven’t these results been released to the residents of Carine, and myself, their Member of Parliament?
