I refer to reports of a bushfire threatening Casuarina Prison on 12 November 2025, and I ask: (a) what fire suppression systems are on site, and what is the current capacity of: (i) static water supplies; (ii) hydrants and pumping systems; (iii) backup generators; and (iv) smoke management infrastructure?

The Department of Justice advises:
a) Casuarina Prison is equipped with;
i) The site is fitted with two Fire Tanks with a combined capacity of 360 kilolitres.
ii) The fire suppression water supply has a capacity of 30 litres per second.
iii) There are seven backup generators across the site which support the fire suppression system.
iv) Site buildings are fitted with Very Early Smoke Detection Alarm (VESDA) systems, extraction fans, and fire alarms in accordance with the Building Code of Australia.
