Yes. The grant auditing program commenced in November 2009.
(a) The identification of individual schools may have a detrimental effect on these schools, however I have been advised by the Department of Education Services that for the 2009, 2010 and 2011 calendar years that 10, 50, and 10 schools respectively were found to have ineligible students which resulted in adjustments to their school grant.
(b) Yes.
(c) All non-government schools were supplied with a post-audit summary letter, detailing the findings and advising of any adjustments to their grants if required.
The schools requiring adjustments were provided with comprehensive training with respect to the funding eligibility criteria and the grants claiming process. The department will revisit schools to assist schools in maintaining their compliance.
