I thank the member for some notice
of the question, which I note was initially asked on Thursday, 22 August 2024.
The following answer was correct as at that date. The answer has been provided
to me by the Attorney General.
(1) Dr Graham
Hill is the State Solicitor and Jean Shaw is the acting State Counsel.
Recruitment to fill the position of State Counsel via an external merit
selection process will commence shortly.
(2) There are
currently four Deputy State Solicitors, two of whom have been appointed via
external merit selection processes. There are two vacant Deputy State Solicitor
positions, which will be advertised shortly and filled via external merit
selection processes.
(3) Currently,
the State Solicitor's Office has 61 senior assistant State Solicitors
at 52.99 FTE. There are no vacant positions at that level.
