I refer to my ongoing correspondence with
the Minister for Transport regarding the draft Bus Stop Infrastructure
Partnership Agreement and ask: (a) has
any progress been made this year: (i) if
so, what decisions and changes have been made; and (ii) if not, what has prevented progress; (b) what is the Government doing to facilitate this
process; (c) will the Government commit
to intervening in this process in the event that the discussions between the
Public Transport Authority (PTA) and Western Australian Local Government
Association (WALGA) continue to make limited or slow progress, and if not, why
not; and (d) when can the residents of
Mirrabooka expect to see new bus shelters installed in the area?

(a) Yes.
(i) Several key matters have recently been agreed to at an executive level which should facilitate completion of the agreement in a timely manner.
(ii) Not applicable
(b-c) The Public Transport Authority (PTA) and WALGA are continuing with their negotiations.
(d) Responsibility for the provision of bus shelters continues to fall under the jurisdiction of the Local Government Authority. Therefore this is a matter for the City of Stirling to answer noting that Government funding for this purpose is available under the PTA's Bus Shelter Grants Scheme.
