I refer to the 36 children, the subject of the Office of the Ombudsman investigation into ways that State Government departments and authorities can prevent or reduce suicide by young people, and I ask: (a) of these 36 children, how many were residents in the South West region; and (b) how many had been referred and accepted by South West Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service at some point in their lives?

Ombudsman Western Australia is an independent agency and does not report to the Premier. The following answer has been provided by the Ombudsman:
(a) Ombudsman Western Australia's report on an own motion investigation into ways that State Government departments and authorities can prevent or reduce suicide by young people provides information regarding residence in regional Western Australia of the 36 children, however, information regarding specific regions of residence of the 36 children could have led to the identification of individual children and, accordingly, was not provided.
(b) Not applicable.
