(a)-(d) There was no representative of the Department of Land Administration at the conference on 16 June 2000. Neither the Department nor myself received an invitation to this forum. (e) The Hon Premier has in his response to question 2909 outlined attempts by the State to progress discussions with the Goldfields Land Council on native title issues in the region. The Department of land Administration deals, as necessary, with the land council on individual land title proposals and will link to any wider discussions that may eventuate to enable land title issues to be addressed.
(b) if so what where their names and positions; (c) if not, why not; (d) did you or your office receive an invitation to this forum; and (e) do you support the concept of mediation of Native Title claims in the Goldfields?
