I refer to the primary and high schools earmarked for development in the Swan Urban Growth Corridor Sub-Regional Structure Plan and ask the following for each school site: (a) has the State Government purchased the land for each site; (b) if no to (a), can the Minister detail which sites have been purchased and which sites have not been purchased; (c) for sites that have not been purchased, has the State Government begun negotiations with the current landowners to purchase the property; (d) does the State Government have plans to build the new schools; and (e) will the State Government fund the construction of a new primary school in the Caversham area?

(a) No land has been purchased for proposed schools in the Swan Urban Growth Corridor.
(b) The following public school sites have been earmarked:
· West Swan West Primary School;
· West Swan East Primary School;
· Caversham South Primary School;
· Henley Brook South Primary School;
· Henley Brook East Primary School;
· Henley Brook West Primary School; and
· Henley Brook High School.
(c) Yes. The Department of Education has commenced negotiations with the land developer for the Caversham South Primary School site only.
(d)-(e) No, not at present. While there has been significant residential growth in the corridor, existing schools can accommodate the enrolment demands. The Department of Education monitors demographic trends to inform future capital works programs.
