Mr. Johnson asks the Premier about the purchase and sale dates of shares held by Mr. Kucera, the former Minister for Seniors, amidst a cabinet shares scandal. The Premier avoids answering directly, instead attacking the questioner and referencing the Leader of the Opposition's share dealings.

I refer to the cabinet shares scandal, to the Premier’s comments to the media that they have not been asking him the right questions, and to the question asked yesterday in the upper house on the shareholdings of the former Minister for Seniors, the member for Yokine, that the Premier did not answer. I will ask one clear, concise question: when were the shares held in the name of Mr Kucera bought and sold? Dr G.I. GALLOP

The member for Hillarys gave some notice of this question. In case the member for Hillarys does not realise, the member for Yokine resigned his ministerial commission and is no longer a minister. I do not think the member actually understands that the minister has resigned. If the member for Hillarys is interested in share dealings, he should perhaps turn to his left and ask the Leader of the Opposition about his. The member for Hillarys is asking me for a level of accountability on share dealings that he will not ask of his own leader. Perhaps we need to get Hon Norman Moore to talk to the Leader of the Opposition about these matters, because he is apparently the person who directs the Leader of the Opposition in this Parliament. Several members interjected. The SPEAKER : Order, members!
