(1) How many teachers and education staff in each of these
regions are on stress-related leave?

the year to date, for each of these regions how many teachers have left their
positions or been assigned to other jobs prior to their term of contract
expiring?

(1) The
information provided relates to all cases in which psychological injury has
been accepted as a workers' compensation claim. There is not a category
for stress leave when employees access personal leave entitlements. There are
15 active workers' compensation claims: three in the Kimberley, five in
the Pilbara and seven in the midwest. The Department of Education has a midwest
education region, not Gascoyne.
(2) The total
number of teachers who left their positions during the relevant time period is
123 in the Kimberley, 217 in the Pilbara and 320 in the midwest. More detailed
information about teachers who have been assigned to other jobs prior to their
term of contract expiring is not readily available from the department's
human resource management information system in the time available. When the
information becomes available, I will provide it.
