I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) No. It is not the responsibility of the State Records Commission to implement the Gordon inquiry committee’s record-keeping plan. The Department of the Premier and Cabinet was responsible for implementing the plan. This has been done; however, the State Records Commission has not fully approved the plan yet. (2) The State Records Commission requested that the Department of the Premier and Cabinet provide further clarification about certain elements of the retention and disposal components of the plan before approval could be given. (3) Yes. The Department of the Premier and Cabinet considered the State Records Commission request and completely reviewed the Gordon inquiry retention and disposal schedule. The retention and disposal schedule is now with the State Records Office for evaluation and submission to the State Records Commission for final approval.
