(1) Given the fact that the English jury has found the English course of study to be ‘flawed’, will the Minister guarantee that the 2007 English results will be accurate?
(2) Have any consensus meetings been held for the Year 12 English course of study in 2007?
(3) If yes to (2), have any problems with the assessment procedure been identified?
(4) If yes to (3), what are these problems?
(5) Have any students been identified through the special provisions committee identified at the Budget Estimates hearing that have been disadvantaged by the transition of courses?
(6) If yes to (5), how many students, and what action has been taken to ensure that these students have not been disadvantaged by the transition?

1. Yes
2. Yes, consensus meetings have been held in Year 12 English to validate semester 1 results. The second semester results will be validated at Year 12 consensus meetings scheduled for late October/early November. Also assessment seminars were held in term 1 and WACE exam marking meetings were held in term 3.
3. No issues have been reported to the Chief Executive Officer.
4. Not applicable
5. Formal requests for schools to submit student details for those who may be disadvantaged by the transition to the new WACE arrangements was sent to schools last week. As at 26 September, four schools have made submissions.
Submissions close on Friday 19 October and 2 November.
6. Decisions will be made after the closing of applications.
