(2) Will the minister also table the action plan and the first two six-monthly reviews? (3) If not, why not? Hon KIM CHANCE

AnswerView source ↗

I thank Hon Chrissy Sharp for some notice of the question. (1) Yes. A copy of the agreement will be tabled for the information of the member. Point 8 in the agreement refers specifically to the issue of recognising WA regional differences and area freedoms. (2) Yes. The action plan is at attachment 1 of the agreement. An initial action plan was developed in July 2003 as part of the process of development of the agreement. Two meetings in December 2003 and May 2004 were held regarding the action plan and WA’s regional differences in pest status and risk. The results of the first review in December 2003 have been updated and included in the action plan at attachment 1 of the agreement. The outcomes of the second review in May 2004 are attached as a separate statement. (3) Not applicable. [See paper No 2950.] The PRESIDENT: I call Hon Peter Foss. Hon PETER FOSS: I had intended to get an answer from the Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, but I understand he still does not have it. I am a bit surprised, because I understand the Press has it. It is interesting that the Press has it and I cannot have it. However, I will not ask the minister - Hon Kim Chance: Just let me check. Hon PETER FOSS: No, I have a note with me saying that there will be no answer to the question today. I hope that by next Tuesday I will have an answer. I know the Press has it, so I thought it reasonable that I should get it fairly soon after that. Hon Barry House: That would be the normal chain of events in the way the Government does business. Hon PETER FOSS: No, I do not - Hon Ljiljanna Ravlich: We were getting on very well, and then you do that. Hon PETER FOSS: I do accept that - Several members interjected. The PRESIDENT: Order, members! Does the member have a question? Hon PETER FOSS: Yes, I do. I have a question for the Minister for Housing and Works representing the Minister for Justice, who I understand does have an answer.
