I refer to the management of Polyphagous Shot-Hole Borer (PSHB) in Western Australia, and I ask: (a) who is on the National Management Committee; (b) since the discovery of PSHB in Western Australia, how many times has the National Management Committee met; (c) since the discovery of PSHB in Western Australia, how many updates has the Minister's office been given by the National Management Committee; (d) how were these updates provided to the Minister's office ie. in person, email etc; and (e) on what date was the final decision made to transition from "eradication" to "management" of PSHB in Western Australia: (i) when this decision was made, who was it communicated to?

(a) The National Management Group (NMG) comprises senior government agency officials from the Australian, state and territory governments and the chief executive officers of affected industry organisations that are signatory to the relevant biosecurity cost-sharing deed.
(b) NMG has met 5 times regarding the response to PSHB.
(c)-(d) The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development has provided numerous updates to the Minister’s office, both written and verbal, throughout the PSHB response. These have included detail of NMG considerations.
(e) 18 June 2025.
(i) On 19 June 2025 the State Government announced the NMG decision that polyphagous shot-hole borer was no longer technically feasible to eradicate from Western Australia. On the same day, an NMG communiqué outlining the decision was published on the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry website and distributed to relevant industry partners.
