ENERGYSAFETY — SOLAR ISOLATING SWITCHES
696. Hon KATE DOUST to the
Minister for Commerce:
I refer to the media statement made by EnergySafety on 23 May
2014 regarding ''dangerous solar isolating switches''.
(1) When did EnergySafety become aware that each of the
switches named were dangerous?
(2) When was a
prohibition notice given for each of the dangerous switches named, and how many
Western Australians were impacted by these prohibition notices?
(3) What steps did EnergySafety take
to inform owners of these switches that they were dangerous?
(4) Have each of the switches been recalled; and, if yes —
(a) when was the recall notice
given for each of the switches listed; and
(b) is there a time frame for
completion of the recall?
(5) Is there
any mechanism to reimburse solar panel owners for loss of production as a
result of the ''dangerous solar isolating switches''?
