I refer to the Treasurer’s Advance Authorisation and provisions made in the Western Australia Police budget and I ask:
(a) does the reference to a saving of $240,000 relate to the deferral of capital works; and
(i) if so, what are those works;
(b) at whose direction, or from what cause, were these projects delayed or deferred;
(c) what is the revised time for completion of said works; and
(d) what impact, if any, will this have on the resources available to operational police officers?

(a) This is not a saving as this transaction refers to a carryover of capital contingency funds into 2010/11 for the Perth Police Complex Project. This adjustment does not reduce the overall project budget.
(b) The contingency funds are not currently a part of the main project funding and are being held until project completion.
(c) The Perth Police Complex is currently projected to be completed mid 2012.
(d) This transaction will have no impact on operational Police Officers.
