SHIRE OF SERPENTINE-JARRAHDALE - SCHEME AMENDMENT 146
I refer to my statement to the Legislative Council on Wednesday, 15 November concerning the proposed housing subdivision in Howitzer Turn, Byford. In response, the government advised that a meeting would be held on Friday, 17 November and that a solution was likely to be reached at that meeting. (1) Did the meeting go ahead? (2) Was a solution found? (3) Has the minister now agreed to the scheme amendment? Hon ADELE FARINA

(1)-(3) I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. The meeting was held on Friday, 17 November and included participants from the development company, the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale, the Department for Planning and Infrastructure and the Office of the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure. A number of issues and options were discussed and the participant parties undertook to document the options for presentation to the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure as a priority. The minister has not determined the town planning scheme amendment and wants to make sure that the subdivision is properly designed to deal with amenity impacts of traffic on the South Western Highway.
