1004. Hon LOUISE KINGSTON to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I refer to the gun buyback, which
everyone should agree was not a buyback but a voluntary surrendering.
(1) Can the minister please advise
how many firearms were handed in?
(2) How much of the $64.3 million
was expended?
(3) Will the remainder of the funds
now be required to fund extra officers to administer the new laws?
(4) If yes to (3), how many
officers will be required to administer the new laws?
