In relation to the Government 2009 document “Directions for keeping hardcopy State archives awaiting transfer to the State Records Office”, I ask:
(a) is the Minister aware that shelving for archives should be of metal or sealed wood and that medium density fibreboard (MDF) or particle board should not be used due to the potential carcinogenic risk; and
(b) can the Minister confirm which existing archive areas and their location within portfolio agencies and departments are of MDF or particle board and would thus pose a potential carcinogenic risk?
