I ask a supplementary question. Is the Treasurer aware that Alberta has the lowest tax rate in Canada; and, if not, why not? Mr E.S. RIPPER

I am aware that Albertans are in a better financial position than other people in Canada, and that is because of the oil and gas revenues that the Government of Alberta receives. However, it does not have the iniquitous Grants Commission process - Mr L. Graham: Yes, it does. Mr E.S. RIPPER: Not in the same deleterious way that we do. I would like every member of this House to join with the Government in approaching the Commonwealth to get a fairer deal for Western Australia. We all have a big interest in developing this State, and it is vexing that when we get the proceeds of those developments and our taxpayers make the commitments for infrastructure, the money is redistributed to Queensland or the Australian Capital Territory. That is a significant issue for us. I would like to hear the Opposition make a comment on that issue.
