Further to question without notice 1600 that I asked last Wednesday, will the minister inform the House of the area of land purchased from the Heinrichs, the price paid by the Government and the date of settlement of that sale? Hon TOM STEPHENS

I thank the member for some notice of this question, to which the Minister for the Environment has provided the following reply - Two parcels of land have been purchased for conservation purposes from the Heinrich family. These comprise: 526 hectares for $406 072, the sale being settled on 25 July 2000; and about 219 hectares for $183 522, the sale being settled on 7 September 2001. That is, a total of some 745 hectares have been purchased from the Heinrich family for $589 594. Negotiations are in process with the Heinrich family for the purchase of a further parcel of land of about 193 hectares.
