MAIN ROADS AMENDMENT BILL — INTRODUCTION
973. Ms R. SAFFIOTI to the Minister for
Transport:
I have a supplementary question.
Given that no-one in the community supports this bill, why does the minister
not repeal this bill before he even debates it in this place?

AnswerView source ↗

The member for West Swan says no-one
supports the bill, but she might like to have a chat with Alannah MacTiernan to see why she was going to bring it to
Parliament. The only difference is the freight charge. Members opposite say
that no-one supports it, but we have an act that goes back to 1930.
Mr
B.S. Wyatt interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Victoria Park, I call you now to order for the second
time. Quick answer, please.
Mr
D.C. NALDER : We have got an act that goes back to 1930.
Mr
B.S. Wyatt interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Victoria Park, I call you to order for the third time.
Mr
D.C. NALDER : We have an act that goes back to 1930 and we believe it is
overdue for amendment; hence we are bringing this bill to Parliament.
