(a)       In response to the WA Government’s Methamphetamine Action Plan (2017), Wandoo Rehabilitation Prison (Wandoo) for females and Mallee Rehabilitation Centre (Mallee) within Casuarina Prison for males were commissioned to provide a modified therapeutic community environment within which prisoners can address their alcohol and drug use.
The Wandoo and Mallee Triage Coordinators perform state-wide mobile coordination of the triage requirements and the assessment of prisoners eligible for placement at these facilities. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Triage Coordinators play a key role in ensuring that the triage team appropriately identifies and fast-tracks those prisoners eligible based on their assessments.
(i)           Not applicable.
(ii)          Refer to the answer for part a.
(iii)         The capacity of Wandoo is 77 prisoners and Mallee is 128 prisoners.
