I refer to the media release dated 29 June 2017 titled Kiara College to retain farm school land, and I ask: (a) who previously owned the 12 hectares of land that was transferred to the school; (b) was there a valuation carried out on the land at any time before the land was transferred to the school; (c) what was the value of the land that was transferred to the school; and (d) if no to (b), what was the estimated value of the land transferred to the school?

(a) The land currently remains owned by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) with the farm school operating under ‘holding over’ provisions on a lease to the Minister for Education while the election commitment to transfer 12 hectares of land is fully implemented.
(b)-(c) No valuation of the land has been undertaken. It is to be a Crown reserve with a management order.
(d) The 12 hectares of land is held on the WAPC books of account at a value of $181,215. This figure is the pro rata value based on the value (as provided by Landgate in the government property register) of the lot from which the 12 hectares will be excised.
