I refer the Premier to public statements made by several former employees of the Minister for Police and Emergency Services subsequent to the Premier’s meeting with the minister to discuss the superannuation allegations. In light of the new allegations and evidence, will the Premier now seek evidence from the police minister, including his business accounts, to substantiate his claim of not being aware of the superannuation problem prior to November 2005; and, if not, why not? Hon KIM CHANCE

I thank the honourable Leader of the Opposition for providing some notice of the question. No. The minister has already apologised and has moved to rectify the outstanding superannuation payments. Hon Norman Moore : That is a serious non-answer, isn’t it? Hon Kim Chance : That is the answer. Hon Norman Moore : It did not answer the question, which is always the problem these days, Mr Leader of the House. Hon Kim Chance : In case you missed it, the answer was no. Hon Norman Moore : I know. I got the “no” bit. THE PRESIDENT : Order, leaders! Hansard did not miss the answer.
