I refer to the government’s budget commitment to the undergrounding of powerlines in coastal Pilbara towns. (1) What funds have been allocated in the budget for the provision of underground power in the Pilbara? (2) What amount of this allocation has been funded by — (a) the Pilbara revitalisation plan; (b) Horizon Power; and (c) the Office of Energy? (3) Which towns in the Kimberley, Pilbara and Gascoyne have been assessed for underground power? (4) What is the estimated cost for the undergrounding of powerlines in each of these towns? (1) Royalties for regions funding of $35 million has been provided to Horizon Power for the provision of underground power in the Pilbara. (2) (a) An amount of $35 million. (b) Nil. Horizon Power was provided with an equity injection of $35 million from the Pilbara revitalisation plan to cover the corporation’s proportion of the costs of the undergrounding project in the Pilbara. (c) Nil. (3) In the Kimberley, Broome and Derby have been assessed. In the Pilbara, South Hedland, Karratha, Onslow and Roebourne have been assessed.
