I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) The current children’s ward at Derby Regional Hospital is a separate segment of a larger ward area. (2) A final decision on the plan for the next stage of development for Derby Regional Hospital is yet to be made. The ward areas are part of the hospital that will be developed during the next stage. (3) The children’s ward is separated from other ward areas by a series of doors through which children cannot pass without assistance. Any adult coming into the children’s ward must pass the manned nurse’s station.
