CERTIFICATE OF EDUCATION — EXAM ERRORS
As a supplementary question, I note that the minister did not answer parts (2) or (3) of my question. On what basis can the minister assure the house that corners have not been cut in what should have been a rigorous checking process for the year 12 exams? Dr E. CONSTABLE

I agree that it should have been a rigorous process. I asked for it to be rigorous, and corners have not been cut in the setting or checking of exams. Errors have been made. Errors were made in the past. In either the last or the second last year of the former government, there were two errors in the exam papers. This year, there have been errors in the exam papers in New South Wales this year, too. Errors occur. They should not occur and there is no excuse for it. I asked for these papers to be checked and rechecked.
