I am advised that:
(a)-(b) Long-stay mental health patients are not placed in emergency departments. In some circumstances, admitted patients may be returned to the emergency department for emergency treatment for a range of conditions, such as an injury. Most mental health attendances at emergency departments are ambulatory care patients (non-admitted) needing immediate treatment.
