The Department of Housing advises
(1) Yes.
(2) The Public Housing Review Panel in its original form was abolished in July 2009.
(3) Changes have been made to the Department of Housing's appeal mechanism to allow it to operate without the Public Housing Review Panel. In particular, the level of community representation on Regional Appeal Committees has been increased, ensuring that all decisions can be reviewed locally with an appropriate degree of independence.
(4) All appeals that were outstanding when the Panel was abolished have been resolved through the interim appeals process.
