(1) I refer to the Government’s decision to re-route the Southern suburbs railway through South Perth-Como and Salter Point and ask, prior to the Cabinet decision on 16 July, was any studied attempt made to examine world’s best practice relating to new electric railways being routed through built-up residential areas?
(2) Was any studied attempt made to examine world’s best practice relating to new electric railways being routed alongside major environmental assets such as a river system?
(3) If not, why was such a major decision taken in the absence of any such studies?
