ESPERANCE PORT — SPODUMENE EXPORTS
776. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Ports:
I refer to the announcement on 5 July
2023 by the Southern Ports Authority of a five-year contract for the export of
spodumene through the port of Esperance.
(1) What is the estimated annual
throughput under the contract?
(2) Which berth and what method of
shipload will be used for the product?
(3) How will the product be stored
at the port of Esperance?
(4) What is annual estimated monthly
truck movements for the transport of the product into the port?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following response has been provided by the
Minister for Ports.
(1) The contract allows for up to
900 000 tonnes per annum.
(2) Berth 3 and the berth 3
shiploader will be used.
(3) It will be stored in shed 4.
(4) There will be 9 500 truck
deliveries per annum.
