(1) How many ‘appropriate authority investigations’ into alleged misconduct were conducted by Agencies under your control?
(2) Of the total, how many are complete?
(3) What was the finding from the investigation?
(4) Was a report done on each of those investigations?
(5) If no to (4), why not?
(6) Were these reports made public?
(7) If no to (6), why not?
(8) How many investigations are still ongoing/outstanding?
(9) What is the nature of the investigations?

Department of Planning
(1) As the appropriate authority under the
Public Sector Management Act 1994
to make investigations where there was suspected misconduct, the Department for Planning and Infrastructure undertook 15 investigations in the 2008-2009 financial year. Three investigations involved Planning personnel and 12 involved Transport personnel.

2 completed; 1 discontinued - employee has now transferred to the Department of Transport where the investigation will be undertaken.

: 7 completed

· No finding of misconduct related to misuse of Department resources.
· No finding of misconduct related to influence of process.
· Investigation process suspended.

Investigation findings included:
· No breach;
· Minor breach - email use and conduct in the workplace.
· Serious breach - inappropriate use of the TRELIS database.
(4-5) The results of the initial internal investigation are referred for action, if any, in accordance with the provisions of the
Public Sector Management Act 1994
in terms of the alleged misconduct.
