This question today is pretty straightforward; it is not very innovative, because I am just about brain dead. I refer to the post-compulsory curriculum changes in Western Australian schools. (1) What courses have already been introduced? (2) What courses are proposed to be introduced in term 1, 2006? (3) When will the remaining courses be introduced? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) The aviation course of study was introduced at the beginning of 2005. (2) Three new courses are planned to be introduced in 2006. Those courses are English course of study; media production and analysis course of study; and engineering studies course of study. (3) The remaining courses are planned to be implemented over 2007 and 2008. Twenty courses are planned to be implemented in 2007, and 22 courses are planned to be introduced in 2008. The member has really not assisted the process of implementation. The simple fact is that for next year we are talking about only four courses. It will be easy for us to proceed with effective implementation. This has been in the process for a significant time. The curriculum guides are being prepared, and they will be ready on time for the four courses and will assist the efficient implementation of the new curriculum framework for years 11 and 12. Hon Derrick Tomlinson interjected. The PRESIDENT : Order! Hon Derrick Tomlinson has not yet been called to ask his question.
